Artifact: Liu, Proctor, Dankenbring

“Artifact” New sculptural works by Beili Liu, Scott Proctor, and Jonathan Dankenbring

4.13.13 – 5.11.13

Each of the artists in the exhibition use simple, familiar materials in their sculptural works. Salt, panes of glass, wood, and construction materials are transformed into objects that appear simultaneously ancient and futuristic. Textures that suggest organic accumulation, growth, and decay combine with materials reminiscent of polished technological surfaces. The results are abstract and minimal, and evoke human scale, the passage of time, natural cycles, and the interaction of the constructed and natural environment.
